Edible Ancestral Heads

These edible heads are based on traditional African masks, each of which celebrate and commemorate female ancestors in some way. The heads (from right to left) are named: Asen, Okuyi and Mwana Pwo. The piece also serves as a commentary on the consumption of African culture in the Western world; the masks are, quite literally, consumed.
